Day 13   7-31-25.   Last night was did not go as planned.   A taxi ride to the ER due to left lower abdomen pain.   CT showed a 6mm kidney stone.   Some good hospital meds killed the pain.   I was there about 3 hours and was sent on my merry way. Kevin Qualmann and I got a late start of 8am and 60°.   We had an easy 344 miles in 6.5 hours.   Lots of open areas were driven through with the final ride down Spearfish Canyon.   This is the start of the Sturgis motorcycle rally, so a lot of loud bikes were here. I had no discomfort at all from last nights ordeal.   So tomorrow is on to Sioux Falls and a stop to see Chad Gillen.

Day 12  7-30-25.  Kevin Qualmann and I started out today at 7 with a temp of 50° We covered 406 miles today in 9 hours.  It got as cool as 50° and warmed to 82°.  Mostly in the mid 70’s. Last year all we saw of the Teton area was rain and ground level clouds.  This year was just the opposite.

Day 11   7-29-25.   Kevin Qualmann and I start out at 6:30 and 72°.   463 miles and 10 hours and 50 minutes later we landed in Challis, ID. Travelled many miles of true motorcycle roads and had the joy of seeing 102.2° with it holding around 99° for several hours.   Then 56° and rain for several miles through a forest fire from last September that had caused Kevin and I to retrack one of our routes due to road closure.   Second long day.   Tomorrow looks to be shorter.

Day 10   7-28-25.   Kevin Qualmann and I got started on our trip back into the states at 6:50 and 56°. Super easy border crossing.   This was to make up for by a deer 45 minutes into our day deciding to run me over.   Rang his bell but he got up and ran away.   The bike faired really well.   A bent light bracket and a cracked side panel so minor I won’t fix it.   We were travelling at 45 when he appeared.   No time to avoid the hit.   He did turn and that avoided a 90° run into me.   Bike stayed up and I had no injuries.   Could have been worse. We then drove through the Northern Cascades National Park.   Nice roads and sights.   With Washington, this completes 49 states ridden in on my R1250RT After that miles and miles of wheat fields and low 90’s. Our arrival to Lewiston, ID was greeted with 101° heat.
