Day 13 7-31-25. Last night was did not go as planned. A taxi ride to the ER due to left lower abdomen pain. CT showed a 6mm kidney stone. Some good hospital meds killed the pain. I was there about 3 hours and was sent on my merry way. Kevin Qualmann and I got a late start of 8am and 60°. We had an easy 344 miles in 6.5 hours. Lots of open areas were driven through with the final ride down Spearfish Canyon. This is the start of the Sturgis motorcycle rally, so a lot of loud bikes were here. I had no discomfort at all from last nights ordeal. So tomorrow is on to Sioux Falls and a stop to see Chad Gillen.
Day 3. 7-22-25 with Kevin Qualmann . Started out at 7am and 64°. Travelled 460 miles today in 10 hours. Saw a high of 74° briefly. Had overcast about 2/3 of the way then on and off light rain. The rail cars in the pictures went on for 19 miles. They were split at field entrances and roads. One section of bad road construction. At times just wet dirt. Rain mode is your friend. Stopped at a couple of museums. Hoping tomorrow is a good day to see Glacier National Park. Kevin and Kevin had to stop in Kevin, MT.
